Its not very often I promote or advertise a playlist from a birthday party, but this night was for a friends 50th that I first got to know him back when I was around 20 and he still amazingly turns up at my DJ nights and originally, he booked me about 3 years ago to do this night, so thought I'd better!!

One Night In Rammstein 12.5.2017

Another great had written into the pages of history of The George IInd, and most definitely a night never to be repeated. Can't say I particularly fancy listening to Rammstein again for a while though! So, yes. As advertised, we managed a FULL 5 hours and with only one complaint on the night!! Not a single request, although I think I was only 3 songs short of the whole back catalogue by the end.

The night itself ticked over very nicely, although I can't help feel that if those 50 "interested" on the Facebook event page could of made a little more of an effort, it would of been one of the best nights of the year type thing! Just saying! Regardless, if you did miss out on the event, then rest assured you really did miss out!

So, the thanks begin. First off, a very well done to the G2 staff for putting up with the change of direction of music for the night and for all your hard help as per usual. Thanks to those that were kind enough to help advertise and spread the word. There were certainly plenty of people in attendance that I didn't know, and finally to all those that did support and make the night worthwhile, even those that I know didn't want to be there!! 

Officially, I'm back on Friday 9th June for a back to normal, good ole fashioned alternative night, (Why Pamper Lifes Complexities) mixing all my usual styles with those for a taste of the eclectic, but if you can't wait till then, I've been asked to DJing again this coming weekend (20th) for a birthday party and everyone is welcome.

Doppelgänger 10.3.2017

"All's well that's end well" is probably the best summation for this evenings musical tribute to Curve. In actual fact, the two people that I know that used to really love Curve, in reality, actually hate my guts, so expecting a good support was, I suppose, somewhat unrealistic on my behalf!!
But as I mentioned, about half way through the night, luckily a nomadic tribe of what could of been students, or at least dodgy Edge types, saved the evening, even if it did mean scrapping the rest of the set!! Plenty of booze, dancing and frivolity was had by all in support, and there went another night, as well as a few more brain cells in the process!

As expected, kicking off 2017 with a sell-out Bowie night, is always going to result in the inevitable come down of the next event, regardless of its theme. The Spiral Scratch was certainly no exception, although timing and lack of cash probably proved to be the killer! But fuck it - myself and those that were kind enough to support the night had a blast, and it was great to hear some of the old bands again. Plus, not even the general population of the pub hassled me to change the music at any time, so I guess people enjoyed it more than they made out!

What a fantastic (decade) night! Definitely on a par with last years tribute night, with The George 2nd being the place to be. Considering the time of year, the support was amazing, and it was great to see everybody getting into the night with such enthusiasm. I'm only sorry I didn't get a chance to mingle more, but DJing can be a harsh mistress! So very special thanks to the G2 staff for all their hard work, Jane for the decorations and cakes, the compliments and praise, and to all of you that made the effort to support the night, especially those that travelled distance.
