Well, while I could reflect on the negative aspects of the year, what with support for the night being pretty low at times, but I’m happier in the knowledge that through this night, I’ve had so many great nights and made new friends, whilst in the had the pleasure of playing over 2000 great songs in the process. (2043 to be precise!)
So, I’m going to take a well deserved break over the Xmas/NY madness but you can be happy in the thought that looking back in 2013, I’ve brought you themed nights from Joy Division, The Cult, The Cure, Sisters Of Mercy, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Depeche Mode, a whole month of goth during Black October, a Top Of The Pops and Alternative 80s Special, and a whole night of 1984s hits!
And inbetween that, I’ve also played new albums by NIN, Merciful Nuns, VNV Nation, The Cult, Solar Fake, Pride & Fall, Frontline Assembly, Aeon Sable, Solar Fake, Aesthetic Perfection, Gary Numan, Black Light Ascension, Evi Vine, Bloody Dead & Sexy, Dead Can Dance, Covenant, Depeche Mode, Dystopian Society, Garden of Delight, The Eden house, The Editors, Goldblade, Inca Babies, Killing Joke, New Model Army, Officers, Project Pitchfork, Public Image Limited, Savages, Skinny Puppy, Solor Dolorosa, Suicide Commando and UK Decay! So the next time somebody reckons there’s noting much to do in Luton, you have my permission to quote the above!!
So many thanks to all of you that did support the night from time to time, those that travelled to make the night, with special thanks to Tim, Adrian, Ben & Kay for their loyal support. Gold stars all round! Lastly not forgetting Kaan @ G2 for letting us have a place to play in the first place.
So what does 2014 have in store? Well time will tell I guess! All I can hope for, for the time being, is that we all survive the Christmas/New Year mayhem, and that 2014 is a more prosperous year for us all.
