Dark Night In Luton 8.5.2014

After tweaking this set to death, I was really happy to finally play it. In fact, I ended up playing till midnight, which is something I rarely do these days. The original set had quite a bit more industrial thrown in throughout, but due to lack of relevant people, most of it was removed to play more suitable songs/requests. Indeed, it's a great disappointment to see such a fun night lacking in regulars from what was once a thriving local scene, as ultimately, its the events that suffer.

Regardless, many thanks to Eva for celebrating her birthday with us, and to the few from the group that supported. Please remember that Dark Night is hosting 'Black Friday' next week, and ironically, will be back on World Goth Day on 22nd May!!

Dark Night In Luton - Pioneers 1.5.2014

Guess it was just one of those nights! The one song I originally based the whole nights event on (Kraftwerks Autoban) I forgot to bring with me! Within the space of three songs, I'm being hassled by some rather unpleasant patrons (who seemed to of arrived with the circus, and to no surprise, knew nothing of the genres I was playing.) Even after being given permission to increase the 'heaviness/weirdness' of my set by the landlord, I still couldn't convince them to move on!! So definitely a night I could of done with a good turn out of you alternative types to help arm the night with some goth ammunition, so it at least looks like I'm playing to a niche crowd!!

Definitely swings and roundabouts time, and with having such a great night the week before, I was totally expecting things to be back to normal, but its still one hell of a crash back to earth! I suppose the last week of the month is always gonna be a difficult one for people these days. Regardless, it was still good to see a few people out, and I even made a new friend!!

Dark Night In Luton - The Alternative 80s Easter Special 17.4.2014

A very big thanks to all those that ventured out. It was a totally awesome night from start to finish with everybody getting into the night straight away. It would of seemed a great opportunity to take more pics, but I'm afraid I was just having too much fun, plus the 80s don't give you much time in between songs!! Plus its always a good sign to be told to 'keep on playing' afterhours, and with the Alt80s being my fav genre, its not exactly a hardship!

Another milestone under the belt, and another great selection of goth and other heavy tunes delivered. Many thanks to DJ Gothydude for the filling in the guest slot, and for getting some dancing going! The new Combichrist and Diary Of Dreams fitted in remarkably well I thought. Thanks to the Bedford crowd for their support and the usual hardcore to whom the night would be pointless!
