Disposable Teens @ The Edge 2:3:13
Do you know, the last time I DJed at The Edge was back in late 2005?
Luckily, things have changed somewhat, and certainly for the better.
I must admit I was surprised when GingerJohn asked me to play, but I'm all for
the fun and experience, and as I'm constantly asked "when's the next Coven"
decided that this was the best opportunity any 'willing sinner' is gonna get!! Plus it was a great chance to play some of my fav alternative tunes 'for the kids' whom all seemed to enjoy the music.
So thanks very much for those few that did brave the weather
and add their support to the night. The night picked up very quickly, and GJ
and I seem to collaborate very well together as if we'd been DJing as a team
forever! Hopefully, we'll be looking into performing another night in
the next few months, so make sure you pay attention!!

Dark Night In Luton's 'Violator' Night
Following quite a few 'Who's Depeche Mode?' questions which still astound me, my doubts regarding running the night were soon dismissed, with a great night unfolding throughout the 3 1/2 hours of playing again. The Luton alternative scene may not be the biggest it's been over the years, but luckily, just very loyal.
So, after the disappointing club guest slot in London recently, it was great to get full control over the decks and content of the music again. I rarely play EBM/Industrial in pubs, but with the themed night as such, I really enjoyed the mix throughout the night. Also, the same with my past pub nights, requests rarely happen, and with the night now going bi-monthly, it looks like I have my work cut out for me from now on!!
See you on the 7th March.
Read it and bleep!!

Reptile - 9th February 2013
My first London club appearance in a while since the closure of my own night, so you can imagine my excitement levels. Having attended Reptile on various occasions, I was pretty confident I knew what would work well with the indigenous crowd, so you can imagine my disappointment when the host explained that he only wanted me to play 'post-punk'. To be honest, I don't really see the point in inviting guest DJs if you're going to dictate what they play. Luckily for me, and unfortunately for them, I'd only brought a select few CDs with me, so I decided that I wasn't going to be dictated too, and proceeded to play what I though was appropriate, and tbh, it worked as expected.
The night gained momentum, and after being moaned at for being late for my second set, regardless that I was told specifically to return to the decks at 12.45am, I proceeded with my second set, only to have the host stand behind me constantly throughout, and even interrupt my flow to play a song which he wanted to hear because I had a full dancefloor. I got to finish my set two songs later, but I was already totally pissed off at this stage, so took myself to the bar for the rest of the night, never to return, and remind me why I dislike playing London so much!
Regardless, I really appreciated the support from friends, but will stick to more local events from now on!

A Tribute To Joy Division (31.1.2013)
Ok, firstly let me thank you all for the marvelous support, although when you have over 1400 people on the invite list, I suppose you’re bound to get some of them trickle through on the night!
Secondly, thanks to guest DJ Nick Switch for playing some cracking tunes, and filling the void in-between my own musical selection, and lastly John Fischer for helping with the Edge promotion.
So, thanks to a viewing of the Joy Division film last year, this got me back into the idea of starting up a few themed nights, although this was my second Joy Division tribute night, the first during my old Thursday Fury nights at The Blackhorse back in early 2009 so I’m not that original I guess!
Anyway, it was great to catch up with all my friends, and to make some new ones, all thanks to the love of music.
As some of you may know, I’ll be back in Thursday 21st February playing homage to Depeche Modes ‘Violator’ album (which will be 23 years old in March!) where I’ll be playing all the album throughout the night, including all the relevant b-sides in-between a great selection of EBM/Electronica etc. I’ve also managed to get the ‘Dark Night In Luton’ more established to once a month, so let’s hope this becomes the new social alternative gathering for the town, especially as Luton just seems to be inundated with metal and indie nights!!
And for those you a tad more hardcore, I’ll be guesting at London ’s Reptile on Saturday 9th February, playing some hardcore goth together with host Vade Retro and Steve Nine.

"Dark Night In Luton"
Last December was the first time in 10 years that I'd celebrated my birthday NOT DJing, so this time, I'm running a purely self indulgent night playing some of my favourite *chilled-out gothic tunes throughout the night at my local pub!!
Expect to hear great tunes from Merciful Nuns, Adoration, Faith & The Muse, Suspiria, Global Citizen & Clan Of Xymox.....etc etc...
Kicking off from 8pm. Hope to see you there.
*And yes, its chilled out as I know some of you have to get up for work the next day!!
