Musically, this was a great night. I was hugely impressed with DJ Blacults sets, and those that weren't there to witness it, really missed out. Otherwise, the night was fun if not strangely quiet for an end of the month event.

I haven't played an 'Anti-Valentines' event since 2011, so it was fun to play some of the classics associated with the night, and some newer tunes to boot. Also great to see the pub busy for the majority of the night, although this was totally down to the passing trade again, and very little to do with the 70 people that apparently 'like' this page!! Ignoring the fact that Johnny Depp didn't actually reply to his invite or turn up, I've got to say that this night was really good fun to play. Tad quiet to begin with, but things picked up quickly, and it was also great to see people dancing towards the end of the evening. I did feel a bit mean in cutting off the music at 11.40pm instead of carrying on, but I like to treat you mean & keep you keen!

Dark Night In Luton 23.1.2014

Regardless of my earlier, and rather pessimistic view of this forthcoming event, the night ended up being reasonably busy and incredibly good fun. A slight change to the requests, with some added Motown, but hey, that's how we swing!

So, with it being the worst week of the year as far as money is concerned, and with only a few people answering their invitation (as seems to be the trend these days) I was only expected a couple of people to support the night, but lady luck obviously was on my side. Let's hope she stays with me! Now all I need to find is the cure for my hangover!

Quite an odd night really. But lets face it, after last weekends Death Disco, nothing really was gonna compare. Also didn't help that the small crowd we did have was split between both sides of the pub, and G2 can be a big pub sometimes!

Still, an enjoyable night as always, even if the music also felt a bit out of sorts as well. Regardless, thanks to all that supported. Hope to see more of you next week.
